Meet people in Holbox with the Meet board

Meet (Conecta in Spanish) is the part of the Holbox Go app for meeting people on the island: a board where travellers and locals post plans to watch the sunset, go on a tour together, kitesurf or share dinner, and where you find travel buddies who are in Holbox right now. It is 18+ only, with report and block on every profile, message and activity, and moderation done by people. It is not a dating app: it is for making plans and friends.

What the Meet board is

If you are on the island for three or four days, sunset is better with company. Meet brings together the people who are in Holbox right now in three places: group activities, travel buddies and a public chat for the whole island. It lives inside the Holbox Go app, in English and Spanish.

Group plans

Anyone can post an activity with a time, a rough location and the cost, and others join with one tap. Hostels, bars and local businesses post their events with a Local business badge, so you know what is on today without juggling ten WhatsApp groups.

  • Watch the sunset at Punta Cocos or on the town beach.
  • Go together on a whale shark, three-islands or bioluminescence tour, each with your own booking.
  • Find partners for kitesurf, kayaking or a low-tide walk to Punta Mosquito.
  • Beach volleyball, shared dinners and game nights.

Travel buddies

You see travellers who are on the island now, with their languages and interests. Send a hello and, only if you both accept, you can chat. If someone does not reply or declines, you do not push.

The island chat

A public chat to ask, recommend and make plans: whether a norte is coming, where to watch the sunset or who is going to Cabo Catoche tomorrow. It has clear rules from the first message and the team can mute anyone who breaks them.

Safety: 18+, reporting and blocking

  • Adults only: you confirm your date of birth when you create your profile, and we remove anyone under 18.
  • You can report and block any profile, post, activity or message; what you report disappears for you straight away.
  • Reports are reviewed by people on the team, with priority for minors and scams.
  • We never show your hotel or your exact location.
  • For a first meetup, pick a public place and tell someone you trust.

Activity rules

Whoever organises an activity does it personally. Charging to take part or selling tours, boat trips, transport or food inside an activity is not allowed: "everyone pays their own" means each person pays the venue or provider directly. Tours are booked with licensed operators in the Tours section of Holbox Go.

Not a dating app

Meet is for plans, travel buddies and community on the island. It has no dating or hook-up feature. If someone makes you uncomfortable or keeps pushing, block and report them.
